Hungry for Change

Just watched this documentary earlier this week. LIFE. CHANGING.
If you have Netflix, I recommend you watch this documentary immediately.

Essentially, the documentary is about how the food being sold to us in grocery stores are basically setting us up for failure. There are a lot of different categories that they jump into, all are very eye-opening.

I can tell you right now, I have never thrown a Coke Zero away faster in my life then while I was watching Hungry for Change.

Update!

Well, according to my last post, it has been just over 6 months since my last post. I officially suck.
I almost forgot about this, but my subscription on the domain just went up, and I thought- you know what… I’m going to start blogging about this again. It seemed to be helping.

Well, here are some of the new things that happened in my life:

I am officially down 22 pounds. It’s slow, but steady. I’ll take it. I have a before and after when I was at about 18 pounds down. It was really popular (for me) on my Instagram.

I also crossed off seeing Lady Gaga from my bucket list:

So exciting :)

Other than that, not much has changed in the world of Erin. However, I am going to try and start posting more regularly again. Glad to be back!

Happy 2013

Well, it is now the new year, and with new years come fresh starts! I must say though, 2012 ended wonderfully. One of my best friends got married!

In other news, I am now 10 days into successfully tracking my food. Not eating PERFECTLY mind you, but a lot better than I was. Also, I have lost just under a pound and a half this week. I’ll take it!

So, besides losing weight, I have also created a bucket list. My goal is to get 100 items (which is a lot harder than it sounds). Right now I have nearly 60 I believe. You can see what I have on my list here.

It has been SO MUCH FUN creating one, and hopefully I remember to post when I have accomplished something off of the list. ETA on first cross off? Well, I have tickets to see Mother Monster herself on Jan 23!!! PUT YO PAAWWZZ UP!

Heelllloooo 2013! It’s gonna be a good one, I know it!

Inspiration – Clothes

One thing that always keeps me inspired. Clothes. Pinterest is the ultimate enabler. When I lose enough weight to wear clothes from Modcloth, I will never have money again, and I know this.

Getting Back on the Saddle

im_back

Well, my last post was August 14, and today is now December 11. Needless to say (but, I’ll say it anyways), that I had done the inevitable. I had pretty much given up on this blog and on WW. Well, I am happy to report, that within the last few months, my roller coaster dieting and exercise has landed me here. At 222 lbs, which is realistically only 1 pound weight gain since my best loss. So, I am still down 14 pounds, which is a great place to “start over.”

I have decided to return back to Weight Watchers. I started doing Atkins (I know, I know), knowing full well the harm it could do, and rationalizing it with, “well, it’s also harmful to be overweight, so I’ll take my chances.” I actually thrive on Atkins. My last big weight loss was my last quarter in college, and I it was 20 lbs. So, after having somewhat of a plateau with WW, I decided to stop blogging, so I wouldn’t be judged, and go back to Atkins.

Well, I had a lovely chat with my doctor the other day, and she informed me that I had high cholesterol, something I had never had before. Well, I decided that my diet of bacon and red meat, while effective in losing weight, had to go.

So, here I am! Back to blogging and WW. Merry Christmas.
