Today, I am going to showcase yet ANOTHER recipe from Skinnytaste.com
That girl seriously knows what she is doing. It’s crazy. This week, I decided to set myself up for success by finding a breakfast thing I could make for my mornings. Because I like bread so much, I (not surprisingly) chose these chocolate chip buttermilk scones.

This is what it looks like on her website:

And here is what it looks like in REAL life. Mmmmmmmmm…..

They are about 200 calories a piece (or 5+ per scone) AND you get to eat chocolate and bread. Just wonderful.

You can get the recipe from Skinnytaste here.

Baked Ziti.
Yes, you can have this while trying to lose weight.
There is this FANTASTIC girl that has a FANTASTIC blog about how she lost 135 lbs and has been able to keep it off.

And she loves to cook. Which is awesome for her, but mostly awesome for me, because I am selfish. So, I enjoy going to her website and finding amazing recipes to try… Things like baked ziti!

(photo and recipe from Can You Stay For Dinner?)

And entire serving (which seems pretty big) is about 471 calories, or  12+ if you are a WW nut like me.
And it’s goooooooooddddddd. Let me just tell you. I was definitely needing some pasta in my life, when I stumbled on this gem, and was absolutely not disappointed.

Like I mentioned in Fav Foods | 1 – this is not a recipe blog. Rather, I would like to show you my secret weapons. Healthy recipe blogs. I’ll introduce new sites and resources to you as I introduce new favorite dishes. Today’s dish has quickly become a staple in my house. It is INCREDIBLY simple and DELICIOUS. It’s perfect for when you are in a “I must have pizza at this very moment, or I will stab someone” kind of mood, which I find myself in quite often.

Dashing Dish is a great website that everyone should have bookmarked. While basically ALL of her recipes are fantastic and beautifully photographed, we will focus today on the Low Carb Pizza Panini:

(beautiful photo taken from here

I literally made this recipe 3 times last week. It is about 300 calories per panini, and 1 truly makes what you see in the photo. If you are a WW geek like me, it’s 7 pts+. I KNOW, RIGHT?! Add a nice salad, or if you hate salads like me, you can randomly add some steamed broccoli (although, it doesn’t compliment this very well), and you have yourself a great/filling meal.

I would also like to note, that if you do not have a panini maker, you can whip this sucker up on a hot non-stick skillet, much like a grilled cheese sandwich, which is what I did. It comes out delicious and relatively pretty.

The first post in my “favorite foods” and I picked a good one to start with.
First off though, let me start by saying that this is in no way a recipe blog. I get my oh-so-delicious recipes off the interwebs just like everyone else. However, I will direct you and recommend delicious recipes, and give 100% full credit to the person that created said delicousness.

Now that that is out of the way, let’s get on with it.
Vegetables got ya down? Need a little  something sweet? Maybe a little…. cheesecake? (oh, i went there). Well, no need to fear! Gina from Skinnytaste.com is here to save ALL of our lives.

Let me introduce to you, my best friend, the Red, White and Blueberry Cheesecake Cupcakes:

(beautiful photo and recipe from Skinnytaste)

Work with a lot of people who enjoy office snacks, but don’t enjoy gaining weight? Perfect! Make them this little gem. She uses vanilla greek yogurt and low-fat cream cheese, and it literally tastes just like cheesecake. Make a batch of these, and you have an 80 calorie dessert for the whole week! (Or for a day if your me….)
