5 Day Weekend
Alright. I know, I know. I have been pretty MIA for the last week or so, and for that I apologize. This seems to be somewhat of a habit lately, huh? Again… oops! Sorry.
Let me explain. I have just had 5 wonderful days away from work. My job decided to be AWESOME and gave us 4th of July off AND the Thursday and Friday after that off too. ALSO the time between Christmas and New Years as well. Man, gotta love it here. However, I have been SLACKING off big time these last few days. I have been alluding to it in my last couple posts, and I am not proud. This morning though, I am back on track (so far) with my melon and banana breakfast medley.
So, because I am completely narcissistic, let’s talk about my weekend!!
(Caution, this is the LONGEST blog post on the planet. Seriously, it’s obnoxious)
Last post we ended with was early 4th of July. Well, that night, I went to a Diamondbacks game (super last minute) and because the basecall gods were smiling upon me, it was against the San Diego Padres. If i followed baseball at ALL, it would be the Padres I would follow. And, SPOILERS, they beat Arizona. HOORAY.
The whole time though, I was trying to get photos of Jeff and I being cute, or really just a decent photo of Jeff, period. However, Jeff has this thing he likes to do. It’s called making stupid faces EVERY TIME someone tries to take a picture of him. So the entire night I was trying to get a good photo of him. Worst. Game. EVER.
Eventually, I won….
Aawww, there is the face I know and love (sometimes). Also, I would like to make note of his “‘Merican’” ensemble. He insisted we drive straight to Walmart and buy the most obnoxious American t-shirt he could find. So he chose the one with the bald eagle and the nautical star on it…. And then matched it rather tastefully with his Jim Beam hat his brother gave him. Really all he needed was some camo shorts and a beer koozi (sp?) strapped to his hand.
It was a fun night though. And because this is a “weight loss” blog, I will incorporate my eating habits into this. I had a corn dog at the park, which I did not track, and some artichoke spinach dip, which surprisingly I DID track…. but then cheesecake and fries after the game at this fancy smanshy restaurant which I did not track….. It was all delicious though, for the record.
The next day, I spent ALL day cleaning the living bajeezus out of my apartment, since my mom was on her way from California to hang out for my days off. Bee tee dub, the dog had definitely pooped on our carpet the night before and I hadn’t gotten around to cleaning it before the maintenance guy came… Talk about awkward. “Yes, the blinds in my bedroom have been torn to shreds due to this little gremlin we adopted. Also, don’t mind the poo in there.” Siigghhhh….
That took up a large part of my day, but my apartment is currently AWESOME. My mom got in that night, and we promptly went to Cibo (favorite restaurant in phoenix, btw) to get some crepes filled with nutella. Which, no, I did not clock that in either :/
(this is legitimately what Cibo looks like…. It’s ridiculous)
Moving forward to Friday. That was a GREAT day. My mom and I went to the MIM. It’s a music museum here in phoenix. They have an extensive collection of instruments from around the world:
(oops! My thumb made it into that pic!)
Also, they had Rihanna’s microphone, as well as many other things from other artists. But more importantly, this microphone. Where can I buy one?
After a fun-filled day at MIM, my friend Michelle came over so we could go to a Kimbra/Mayor Hawthorne/Foster the People concert.
IT WAS FANTASTIC. Ooohhhh and the level of woman crush I have on Kimbra is pretty unhealthy, so it clearly made my YEAR to see her in the flesh. Mmmmmmm, flessshhhh. (jk… too far)
Here are my SUPER clear iphone photos from the concert….

(kimbra)
The concert was good. Kimbra was AMAZING. Holy shit amazing. Mayer Hawthorne I had actually never heard of. They tore it up too. Those sexy ass devils. I wanted to bang every one of them, I’ll say it. And Foster the People. Well, they WERE the headlining band, so everyone was there for them, and their stage set was fancier, but it was kind of like watching generic brand Muse with all the douchebag high schoolers in all of Phoenix. I mean, they weren’t TERRIBLE. They were entertaining for the most part. However, we did leave half way through the set to make it to the light rail on time.
The next day, on Saturday, I decided it was time to actually exercise, and went to Zumba with my old colleague. It was kind of early though to go, considering I had been at a concert the evening before:
My eyes were so puffy and my face was so sad, I decided to take a photo to document.
After I pelvic thrusted to Pitbull for an hour, I came home, showered and packed up the family in the jeep and headed to Sedona, AZ. GOOD CALL, btw. It was so much cooler up there, and my dog got to experience a forest and a creek which was hilarious.
She was CLEARLY very excited to be there, a little overwhelmed almost. We got plenty of exercise wrangling her around and climbing up and down the rocks to the creek. We had sandwiches while we were there and watermelon. It was a really really nice day!
(this is a lovely pic of my mom and me and my dog, and this is a “lovely” pic of me and jeff. best couple, ever? I think so.)
(and this is sedona/oak creek)
Alright, i am now about to wrap up the weekend. I know, i know.
So, on Sunday, my friend Chara wanted to show me the venue in which she is going to be getting married. Her, and my mom and my friend Esi and I all went to this lovely place to have brunch. I even got to try the AWESOME lemonade taht *SPOILERS* will be served at her wedding. This is the cutest place on the PLANET, seriously.
(i mean, REALLY THOUGH?!)
Also, i hang out with really attractive people:
(look at this bitch eating her icecream!! Jk, she’s beautiful and so not a bitch… I just said that, because I wanted icecream but was *trying* to be good)
(again, i hang out with sexy people)
(sexy person #3 – also trying the AWESOME lemonade)
Annnddd, I think that pretty much sums up the dead period since my last post.
Happy Monday!! :)
