New Gym Membership
(gym photo in background from here, the rest of the awesome, by me)
So, while this is a “new” gym membership, this isn’t my first gym membership. I currently have one to a gym that is seemingly prevalent in my city, in fact, just down the street from me. However, I haven’t gone to that gym in quite some time. There are a few reasons for that:
One- while it is indeed close to my house, it is not close enough to walk or bike. This leaves one option. Drive. Now, I’m not sure what it is about people that go to the gym, but for some reason I have noticed that NONE of them can drive. I pretty much have a near-death car accident EVERY time i go to that gym, and frankly, I have a mini panic attack right before I know I need to go now.
Two- My personal schedule has changed with this new “adventure.” By that I mean, I have a set routine now. I go to work, come home, take the dog out, get some chores started, watch some TV, pick up my boyfriend, cook dinner, finish up chores while watching Star Trek: The Next Generation (love you Piccard!) and then go to bed. There isn’t a whole lot of time in that schedule that inspires me to go to the gym. It’s mostly the picking up the boyfriend and the cooking dinner that throws a wrench in the whole gig.
Three- I live a little far, so getting any person I even remotely know to go to the gym with me is nearly impossible.
So, with that said, I have come up with a solution that hopefully works out the way it does in my brain. There is a gym (that is different from mine) that is within walking distance of my office (problem 1 solved). Some of my coworkers actually go there after work (problem 3 solved). I have a 7 day pass to see if I like it, and if so, I think I’m going to try it. I can fit my workouts in either at lunch or after work, and it really wont completely alter my routine (problem 2 solved). I would like to think it actually enhances it. I will keep you posted on how this all works out. Perhaps some hilarious mishap will happen my first day. That would be PERFECT.
